LIMIT ON HEAVY NEUTRINO IN TRITIUM BETA-DECAY

摘要
A local kink search for a 17 keV neutrino in tritium beta decay has been made on a sample of some 600 million decays per keV at electron kinetic energies near 1.5 keV. No excess of events is observed. The 99% confidence level upper limit obtained for the mixing probability is 0.4%. This is substantially less than the tritium excess reported by Hime and Simpson and the S-35 results of Simpson and Hime and Jelley.
