摘要
In this work a brief historical description of the different ways in which the emotional world was understood in academic psychology is portrayed, particularly in the developmental psychology of last century and of the beginnings of the current century. The starting point is the incorporation of Darwin's conception of emotions into the study of infancy in the 1970s, and how this conception is linked to the research of the theory of mind and to the concept of intersubjectivity that pertains to the research of early interaction. After that, the introduction of temporal sentiments, namely the vitality affect, is examined. These temporal sentiments transcend the basic Darwinian emotions and link the emotional world with music. Finally, a suggestion is made that that the sense of the vitality affects can be heard in Nietszche's idea of music as symbol of the eternal return of the becoming.
