摘要
The article explores the transformation models of the ancient idea of the caves-wombs of the Great goddess-mother as real locations for cosmogonic and initiational ritualism. Thanks to these locations, various notions, beliefs and linear concepts are preserved and are periodically renewed via the process known as archaization. Two models of transformation are presented. The first example examined in the article is one of intentional folklorization of literary scientific texts (the cave erected by father Sauniere of Saint Mary Magdalene in Rennes-le-Chateau village in Languedoc). The second example is of profanation of the ancient notion of the cave as womb of the Great goddess-mother and as a place of initiation under the form of a location for eyesight recovery and conception (the cave of St. Marina near Slivarovo village, Malko Tarnovo municipality).
