Measurements have been made at constant pressure and 298.15 K, leading to apparent molar heat capacities and apparent molar volumes, of aqueous NaCl, KCl, and KNO3. Heat capacities of solutions up to 3 mol kg-1 have been determined with one LKB reaction solution calorimeter and two Picker flow calorimeters. The results are used, together with those reported in the literature, to analyze the accuracy of the Picker flow calorimeter. For aqueous NaCl a recommended best value of the partial molar heat capacity at infinite dilution, Cp,φo = -84.3 J K-1 mol-1, is chosen. © 1979.
