摘要
The vocation of the patriarch Abraham is important, not only for being the first vocational call in the Bible, but mainly by the faithfulness and docility with which Abraham answers the God's call. He leaves his homeland, his relatives and his family and departs, trusting only in the Lord's promises, which are regarded to a land, the lineage and the blessing. Thus, God concludes the Alliance with him, aggrandizing his name and destiny. In the stories about Abraham the main themes of Israel's religion are raised up: the worship of one God, the revelation, the election, the alliance, the promise and the gift of the land. The Abraham saga pervades the other biblical' phases, especially nurturing hope of the exiles at Babylon, reaching the New Testament. And its lineage, bigger than the stars in the sky, nowadays can be confirmed by all the other religions that have Abraham as the father of the faith.
