NEW DETERMINATION OF THE RATE-CONSTANT FOR THE REACTION CH4+OH AND ITS ATMOSPHERIC IMPLICATION

摘要
Following a recent kinetic study of the reaction CH4 + OH, a lower value by 25% of the rate constant,for this reaction has been confirmed by measurements at two temperatures (378 and 422 K), under experimental conditions where the fast secondary reaction between CH3 and OH was kept negligible. This result implies a 25% increase in the tropospheric lifetime of methane as well a reduction of the estimated emission fluxes.
