CLOSED-FORM GAUSSIAN-BEAM ANALYSIS OF RESONATORS CONTAINING A KERR MEDIUM FOR FEMTOSECOND LASERS

摘要
The ABCD law, used to calculate the self consistent gaussian beam in traditional stable resonators, is extended to resonators of femtosecond self mode-locked solid-state lasers containing a self-focusing Kerr medium. Simple closed-form results valid for arbitrary resonator configurations are obtained and criteria for designing and optimizing resonators for self-mode locked lasers are discussed.
