摘要
The prologue, as a literary genre, was born in ancient Rome and Greece and consolidated into what we now know during the Spanish Golden Age. Miguel de Cervantes is the principal creator of the prologue as genre, because he transforms it into an anti-prologue through his critique to literary tradition, his introduction of narrative characters, the creation of a modern reader and the proposal of a poetics, a theory of literature and a literary criticism.
