ROTATING FRAME SPIN-LATTICE RELAXATION IN THE PRESENCE OF AN OFF-RESONANCE RADIOFREQUENCY FIELD - SCALAR RELAXATION OF P-31 IN PBR3

摘要
An NMR technique involving study of spin-lattice relaxation in the presence of an off-resonance radiofrequency field (Tiff) which can be conveniently performed on commercial Fourier transform NMR spectrometers is described. Applicability of the technique for investigation of scalar relaxation of the second kind is illustrated for 31P in phosphorus tribromide which is relaxed via scalar coupling to the quadrupolar bromine nucleus. The normal on-resonance TI, was calculated for 31P from the Ti; results and was found to be 0.13 sec., in agreement with published values. © 1979.
