摘要
The use of damped composites in aircraft holds the promise of achieving vibrational-resistant structures at a reduction in structural weight. This accomplishment can only be reached by integrating damping methods into the design process. This paper reports the results of a parametric study that examines the effect of damping applications on the static and dynamic response of structures. In particular, it is found that in spite of the low modulus of commercially available damping materials and the dependence of properties on environmental conditions, damping designs have a broad range of potential application.
