Determinants of adherence and permanence of physical exercise practitioners

The physical activity is essential for numerous benefits to individuals, however, what is observed is that although they consider very important adherence to practice of physical activity or all remain in it. The aim of this study was to identify the determinants of adherence and permanence in COAFIS program (Orientation Centre for Health and Physical Fitness). This is a descriptive search, with quantitative and qualitative approach, consisting of 35 subjects of both sexes, residents in Guanambi-BA, which were divided into two groups. The G1 group consisting of 15 students COAFIS (avarage 39.07 years) answered the questionnaire "Motivation Inventory to Regular pratice of Physical Activity" (IMPRAF-126), getting the answer that 73.3% of students are classified as "very motivated" and 26.7% of them "unmotivated" to practice, the dimensions of greater motivation were: health, pleasure and stress management. The G2 group consisting of 20 former students of program (average 28.3 years) answered the questionnaire with 13 closed questions related to adhesion factors and permanence and more one open question "Why did you give up the COAFIS program?". It was concluded that the "delimitation of time that the program works" is the main reason for dropouts, followed by "shutdowns of activities (holidays and strikes)" and "lack of company." It was found that the degree of importance of the accession of reasons end up being higher when compared with the permanence and the main barriers that hinder this residence are the same dropout reasons.
