The features of optical-tiber transmission systems (OFTS) have led to a number of problems that complicate the operation of such systems. The relatively short service life of the laser - one of the main components of an OFTS - the long restoration time of an optical cable (OC) and the significant volume of data transmitted over such systems has lead to losses from failures of OFTS's. One method of reducing the down time of an OFTS is efficient organization of the operation of such a system.
