EFFECTS OF HEAVY-PARTICLES THROUGH FACTORIZATION AND RENORMALIZATION GROUP

摘要
For renormalizable theories without spontaneous symmetry breaking, a formalism is developed to systematically extract and evaluate the effects of heavy particles in low-energy physics through factorized local operators and the renormalization group. As an application, quantum electrodynamics with electrons and muons is considered and the effects of muons on the electron anomalous magnetic moment are assessed. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
