PECULIARITIES OF CHANGES IN THE COORDINATION SPHERE OF CHROMIUM ON THE SURFACE OF DISPERSED SILICA

摘要
The dependence of chromium coordinative sphere changes on its concentration on the dispersed silica surface has been studied. It has been found that 1170 K vacuum annealing of samples containing less than 0,3 % wt. of Cr(VI) results in the formation of Cr(III) ions in tetrahedral coordination. The molecules of adsorbed water increase their coordination number and the octahedrally coordinated Cr(III) ions are formed.
