CONTRIBUTION OF LIPID-PEROXIDATION TO THE MECHANISM OF ULCEROSTATIC ACTION OF METALLOATHRANES

摘要
Methylethyl (silanthrane-1-ylmethyl)sulfonium iodide, 1-(chloromethyl)silanthrane, 1-ethoxysilathrane, and isopropoxygermathrane were found to produce an ulcerostatic effect when given to rats with experimental gastric ulcer. The efficacy of metalloathranes was not inferior to that of hydroxyferriscorbone and was superior to that of methyluracil. All the agents were demonstrated to inhibit lipid peroxidation in blood and gastric tissue from the focus of ulcerous lesion, as well as in model experiments with egg yolk liposomes. It was concluded that their antioxidative effects underlay the mechanism of the ulcerostatic action of silathranes.
