摘要：

The occurrence of ternary carbides in some ″transition metals - carbon″ systems is discussed. Metals of the groups are considered. The phase behavior of the compounds and mixed phases is presented by means of isothermal sections of the respective phase diagrams. Hardness testing data are given for several of these carbides and their possible applications are indicated.
