X-rays emitted from laser-generated plasmas provide a high brightness, pulsed source of X-ray for microradiography of small or thin biological samples. The salt concentration in ducts of mites [Dermatophagoides Farinae Hughes subcoxal glands] and beetle larvae [Tenebrio molitor L. rectal complex] was evaluated by this method.
