摘要
Hydrogen diffusion fluxes in opposite directions to overall hydrogen concentration gradients have been recorded in studies with tubular membranes of Pd81Pt19 alloys. Phenomena have been attributed to lattice strain gradient induced combinations of Diffusion Elastic and Gorsky Effects associated with the lattice expansive influences of hydrogen interstitials. Magnitudes of the effects have been correlated with hydrogen contents of the membranes, catalytic activities of the membrane surfaces and with changes of the interior volume of the tubular membranes.
