摘要:
The paper outlines the impact of generation on The National Grid Company plc (NGC) 400 kV and 275 kV transmission network in both planning and operational timescales. NGC's statutory duties are described as well as the new structure of the electricity supply industry. The changing generation patterns over the medium to long term and the consequences for the NGC system are outlined. Aspects of operating the system are described covering daily demand forecasting, frequency response, generation despatch and transmission system constraints.
