BIMETALLIC-CHELATES OF CO(II), NI(II), CU(II), PT(II) AND VO(II) WITH SCHIFF-BASES

摘要
Three new bibasic, tridentate Schiff bases were synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino-3-hydroxy pyridine and its chloro and methoxy substituents with salicyaldehyde, respectively, and were interacted with the bivalent transition metal-ion to form bimetallic chelates. The chelates were characterized by employing the various techniques viz. the molecular-weight determination, the elemental analysis, the magnetic and the spectral techniques. The low values of magnetic moment suggest the antiferomagnetic exchange phenomenon.
