摘要
Three sets of data, each representing the annual statistics of diurnal variation of rain attenuation, are presented for a three year K(u)-band satellite beacon propagation experiment in Surabaya, Indonesia. The experiment was carried out by the Eindhoven University of Technology and the Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember in a co-operative program with INTELSAT. The results show that a substantially higher percentage of excess attenuation falls in the afternoon (17.00 - 23.00 local time) than would be given by the average distribution. These data have implications for satellite business services, broadcasting, and telephony services, where it is of interest to know whether there is a significantly enhanced, or reduced, risk of link degradations in any given clock hour.
