Since the times of the ancient Greeks, it has been recognized that man's state of well-being exhibits marked seasonal variations. Data collected by many statistical agencies and numerous research workers have supplied a great deal of empirical evidence concerning the way in which conditions of life and death change with the seasons. An examination of both general and specific birth and death rates of North American populations is made and conclusions are reached on the significance of these findings and their implications. © 1979.
