摘要
Awareness of the waste problem and its impact on the environment has awakened new interest in the area of degradable polymers. The biodegradation of poly (lactic acid) foil (PLA) in soil in different temperature i.e. 30 degrees C and 45 degrees C was examined. The gel permeation chromatography (GPC) was used to estimate the degree of foil disintegration. The colonization process of soil microorganisms on the foil surface at 30 degrees C and 45 degrees C temperature was demonstrated. The number of microorganisms colonizing the foil surface at both temperatures was similar, with the exception of the number of thermophilic bacteria which was higher than mesophilic bacteria after 10 months of biodegradation. It was found that the degradation of polylactide foil proceed faster at 45 degrees C temperature than 30 degrees C.
