摘要：
Attempts were made to find what happens to a perturbed crystal and whether its motion is damped out by viscous dissipation. It is shown that the kinetic energy of an arbitrary perturbation to a uniform state of a nematic liquid crystal always decays to zero. Furthermore, the validity of the energy criterion governing the stability of a uniform state is also investigated.
