DEEP EARTHQUAKES THAT WERE PRECURSORS OF THE ERUPTION OF RUAPEHU, NEW-ZEALAND, ON 22 JUNE 1969

The author draws attention to reports in Bulletins of the DSIR in which there were attempts to link only earthquakes and volcanoes that were closely related in space and time. He suggsts, however, that in his hypothesis (Blot, 1976), correlations exist between volcanic eruptions and the prior deep earthquakes in the Bentoff zone, and he draws attention to possible precursors of the 1969 Ruapehu eruptions.-P.N.Chroston
