摘要
A theoretical model of fur is developed which allows one to calculate the overall insulation of animal integument as a function of the physical properties of the fur and hairs of the fur layer. The model allows one to take into account the effects of varying ambient air and surrounding temperatures. The end result, the effective thermal conductivity, is used in the thermal modeling equations for heat transfer from animal systems as discussed by Birkebak.
