摘要
Using the technique of transcription autoradiography, it is possible to identify nascent RNA chains directly on defined regions of Drosophila salivary gland chromosomes. Changes in transcriptional activity have been identified in 17 defined regions of Drosophila melanogaster salivary gland chromosome arms 2R and 2L following 20 min exposures of salivary glands to five extremely low frequency electric and magnetic fields. Many of the labeled areas of the chromosome have been correlated with regions which contain known gene sites based on chromosome maps of D. melanogaster.
