摘要
This paper evaluates the effect of shear in plane-strain rolling using asymptotic methods. The formulation is valid for thin sheets. The material behavior is rigid-plastic, and the flow stress can be a function of total plastic strain, effective strain rate and temperature. The primary results of the paper are the identification of two contributions to the vertical roll traction and the generation of a modified equation for the roll force. The present model contains earlier rolling models and provides a systematic method for improving these models.
