摘要：
Experimental and theoretical aspects of application of steady and transient electric birefringence methods to dilute solutions of rigid-chain polymers are discussed. The possibilities of Kerr-effect method for studying conformational and structural characteristics of macromolecular chains are analyzed. The influence of media polarity of electrooptical properties of polymer molecules are discussed. Theoretical concepts are fully illustrated by a considerable experimental materials.
