A MODEL FOR FRACTIONALLY CHARGED SOLITON-LIKE EXCITATIONS IN QUASI-1DK2PT(CN)4BR0.3.3.2H2O

摘要
A model for soliton formation in the mixed valence planar platinum compound K2Pt(CN)4Br0.3.3.2H2O as a result of a sixfold commensurability potential arising from the electron-phonon interaction is presented. The Green function method is used to obtain the six energy bands in KCP along with the localised soliton levels in the lower and upper energy gaps. The upper gap state could be empty, singly or doubly occupied with electrons corresponding to solitons (antisolitons) with the fractional changes +/-e/3, +/-2e/3 and +/-5e/3 and 0, 1/2 and 0, respectively.
