摘要
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in France, in terms of prevalence. Mass screening for CRC by faecal occult blood test (FOBT, Hemoccult (R)) was settled in 2008 for the population without CRC risk factor. French participation rate in this screening is below the target set by European recommendations. Various studies have been conducted to identify physician-related and patient-related obstacles to participation in FOBT screening, using focus groups for physicians and individual interviews for patients. Some researchers also analyzed the physician's communication style, and the content of the consultation during which the FOBT was delivered to the patient. Such studies lead to propose several recommendations to improve medical practice. The evaluation of these proposals has started but needs to be conducted further in order to measure their effectiveness.
