INFORMATION-SYSTEMS AND THE PUBLIC-SECTOR - NEW RISKS

Information Systems (IS) within the public sector creates new risks. Two factors that enhance these risks is the increasing complexly and the anonymity of data and software. This results in an uncontrolled information environment with reduced responsibility. In order to reduce risks one needs a relevant definition of the information system, a clear definition of the purpose of the information, knowledge of the information quality, a definition of the responsibility relationships between the actors and the parts - preferably in contracts -, monitoring the environment(s) affecting the system.
