摘要
The electronic absorption and emission spectra of arylidene derivatives of picolinic hydrazide have been measured at room temperature (298K) in solvents of different polarities (cyclohexane, dioxane, methylene chloride, ethanol, acetonitrile and dimethylformamide) and in aqueous solutions with different pH values. The effect of solvent on the spectral propel-ties is discussed. The ground and excited singlet-state dipole moments were calculated on the basis of Onsager's theory of the reaction field from solvatochromic shifts. The values of pK and pK* for some of the equilibria are presented.
