摘要
The screening processes that lead to multiple final states (satellites) in the core level XPS of 3d transition metal compounds are investigated. In transition metal compounds, where the transition metal ion is Fe2+ or an ion with smaller Z the lowest energy final state is one which has the same number of d-electrons as the groundstate. Only in Ni2+ and Cu2+ compounds the lowest final state has one d-electron more than the groundstate. © 1990.
