PECULIARITIES OF THE MAGNETIC STATE IN AGING IRON-NICKEL INVARS

摘要
The effect of hydrostatic pressure (up to 1 GPa) on the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility as well as heat capacity of aged invar Fe-Ni based alloys is studied. On the basis of the magnetic and thermal behaviour of the investigated materials it is concluded that they are magnetically inhomogeneous and consist of ferromagnetic clusters. The calculated magnetic cluster moment is about 20 mu(B). For the same alloy after various heat treatments a linear dependence of dT(C)/dp = alphaT(C)-1 is found which is in agreement with the Wohlfarth theory.
