The First World War and cinema

The First World War starts a historical process whose consequences reach up to very significant aspects of contemporary societies, including our own. Movies, whose early development is contemporary with and related to the conflict, have generated a sizeable output about it from its beginning, including some masterpieces of the history of cinema. Among them, pacifist films stand out particularly as an expression of a vision shared by many of the participants in the war.
