The article situates the Prole do bebe n degrees 2 in the production of Villa-Lobos and in the broad context of the vanguard of the decade of 1920, pointing also to the problems of dating some of the composer's works. Thereafter the author presents a detailed analysis of the piece "O ursozinho de algodao", the eighth piece of the Prole 2. This article is a revised and enlarged version of a section from the author's master thesis.
