The radiation pattern of a wide-flare-angle scalar horn is determined by a modal-expansion technique and also by the Kirchhoff--Huygen method. Both approaches lead to similar results which agree well with experimental patterns obtained previously by Kay. © 1969, The Institution of Electrical Engineers. All rights reserved.
