摘要：

The synthesis of (E)-2-((4R,5R)-5-((benzyloxy)methyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)but-2-ene-1,4-diol by a one-step reduction of the appropriate 2-substituted butenolide is reported. Product characterization was carried out by IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, MS, elemental analysis and optical rotation.
