摘要
Objectives After completing this article, readers should be able to: 1. Understand the definition and epidemiology of sexual abuse. 2. Know when to suspect sexual abuse, and know which behaviors are normal and which are suggestive of abuse. 3. Recognize that a sexually transmitted disease may be an indicator of sexual abuse. 4. Be aware of the recommended methods for taking a history when there is concern about sexual abuse. 5. Know the proper techniques for examining a child when sexual abuse is possible, and how to interpret physical findings. Be aware that a normal physical examination does not rule out sexual abuse. 6. Be familiar with techniques for collecting forensic evidence and the value of laboratory testing. 7. Know the psychological and legal aspects of sexual abuse, and be aware of treatment plans and methods for prevention.
