摘要
The evolution of nonlinear dispersive waves in weakly and cubically nonlinear media is shown to be governed by a modified nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The linear stability of the plane-wave solution and the soliton solution are investigated using the modified governing equation. The height of the new soliton is a function of both its width and velocity.
