摘要
The article deals with the problem of exception in Carl Schmitt's thought, trying to highlight some relations between his juridical-political ideas and a conception of history associated with his diagnosis of modernity. For that purpose, the text will be divided into two parts. At the first moment, several general observations are presented on Carl Schmitt analysis regarding the subject of exception. Then, the narrative on modern times history is discussed, that the jurist presented on essay, Das Zeitalter der Neutralisierungen und Entpolitisierungen (The Age of Neutralizations and Depoliticizations), of 1929. This text allows one to think how the indetermination and the potential exceptionality of the social and political existence in Schmitt's thought are, simultaneously, a result and a factor of the historical development characteristic of the modernity.
