摘要：
The article deals with a highly controversial issue of war in Iraq initiated by G. Bush. It also provides an essential key to understanding "neoconservatism", its meaning, and its influence as regards U.S. Middle East policy. The hypothesis of a number of outstanding American political thinkers is compelling and provocative. Neoconservative policy for Middle East is premised upon the perceived need to defend Israel from its potential enemies. And influential neoconservatives see American national interests in just those terms.
