摘要：

The purpose of this study is to examine the frequency of the serbian translational equivalents of the phrasal verbs with the particle up among the students of English language. Students of the fourth and fifth year of the English language and literature participated in the research. All data were collected with a questionnaire which consisted of forty sentences, each one including a phrasal verb with the particle up. Students were supposed to translate them into Serbian. The results were expected to show that students would prefer perfective verbs in Serbian rather than imperfective verbs, which the study proved.
