SPECTROSCOPY OF POORLY KNOWN NORTHERN DWARF NOVAE .2.

We present spectrophotometric observations of 25 faint variable stars classified as dwarf novae in the General Catalogue of Variable Stars (GCVS). All of these have received little attention so far. In particular, the large majority of them has never been observed spectroscopically. 15 stars of our sample could be verified as bona fide dwarf novae or at least as belonging to the cataclysmic variables, while two more probably exhibit faint hydrogen emission lines and may therefore also be dwarf novae. Three stars are variable M giants, and one object is tentatively classified as a HES. Two more stars show intermediate and early type spectra, respectively, without emission lines. They cannot be assigned to a specific class of variables on grounds of our observations. Two cases remain unclear. We list equivalent widths, line fluxes and fine widths of the emission lines in the dwarf nova spectra.
