COMPETENCES DEVELOPMENT DURING THE FIRST YEAR AT UNIVERSITY: A CASE STUDY

摘要
This article aims to show the findings of a teaching innovation experience focused on the development of competences of the students during the first year at university in a distance education framework (Degrees in Pedagogy and Social Education). Specifically, the article summarizes the training process carried out from a proposal of "ad hoc" tasks for the development of professional identity and communication skills. Through content analysis of the text of the tasks performed by the students dimensions, categories and meanings have been identified. The results show the convenience of proposing, from the first university course, methodologies and specific tasks aimed at developing student competences. The benefits of this experience are related to the improvement of the motivation and commitment to the future profession, as well as the relevance of the communicative competence, both to understand the academic knowledge essential in the formation of the university student and to the practice of the professional of education.
