:
It has been demonstrated that peroxo complexes of molybdenum and tungsten oxidize secondary alcohols to ketones. The best yields have been obtained with hydrogen oxodiperoxo(pyridine-2-carboxylato)mo!ybdate(VI) and its tungsten analogue. The latter complex proved to be a good catalyst for oxidation of secondary alcohols to ketones by hydrogen peroxide. The kinetics of the catalytic oxidation are reported, and a mechanism of the reaction is suggested. © 1979, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
