Methodological considerations for implementing a quality management system in line with ISO 9001:2000

The strong growth experienced in the last decade of certifications ISO 9001:2000, is attributable to various reasons, but mainly to the impact that the quality management system can generate in improving productivity. However it then ask, What is the reason why companies are certified with ISO 9001 and with low or poor performance in its management? The purpose of this investigation was to determine a preliminary which are the key factors that from a methodological point of view should be considered to ensure that the quality management system will generate positive impacts on business performance. The results are diverse, yet allow demonstrate the importance of aligning quality management with the business strategy, as a source of strengths that enable lower costs or increase revenues, variable determinants of business productivity.
