摘要
A chromatographic method was developed to analyse the complex mixtures of organic compounds, which resulted from 2,4-dichlorotoluene oxidation in the presence of cobalt stearate as a catalyst and 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid as an oxidative initiator. The proposed method enables the oxidate sample to be analysed just after selection withour pretreatment, reducing the time of analysis and making it less labour-consuming. The findings have led to the conclusion that 2,4-dichlorotoluene oxidation is kinetically regular. The procedure may be recommended for controlling the quantity of 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid as a major drug manufacture intermediate.
