摘要
In this paper, we elaborated a review about Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, beginning with a brief historical overview of the technique, moving forward into the description of its functional mechanism and instrumentation and, finally, specifying its experimental configuration. LIBS has achieved significant progress, becoming a fast, reliable and convenient technique in the detection and spectral analysis of elemental constituents of matter.. is analysis of elements can be done simultaneously and even, in real time; furthermore, it is independent of the nature, origin and state of aggregation of the matter in the samples. We discuss the scope and limitations of this technique as well as its potential applications in many fields, including physics, chemistry, material analysis, biomedicine, biotechnology, genomics, agriculture, among others.
